What is Talking Science

Talking Science lessons contain combinations of video, animation, on-screen assessment and teacher support materials.

Students can watch, listen and interact with the lesson content then attempt the progress assessment.

There are tips and clues to help should students need help.

The visually stimulating materials are supported with careful dialogue to encourage thinking and develop understanding of key concepts.

Talking Science lessons are, where appropriate, set in "real-life" contexts. Lessons are designed to be used in many ways to help students learn.

They can be used for class teaching but really become most valuable when used by individuals or small groups.

Students using the resource can pause or repeat sections they need to take more time over. Each lesson has learning activities to address aspects of How Science Works and key concepts from the science curriculum.

Talking Science will support teachers with ideas to enhance their range of investigative "hands-on" practical work.
